About the event
The Stargazer’s Meadow at Due West Hideaways
Our meadow is a haven for stargazers seeking a true connection with the night sky. With no artificial lighting in the meadow and very little light pollution in the surrounding area, you’ll experience some of the clearest, most breathtaking views of the stars in Tennessee.
We intentionally keep the space free from lighting to preserve the natural darkness, allowing the constellations, planets, and even the Milky Way to shine in full glory. Whether you’re watching a meteor shower or simply soaking in the stillness, the meadow offers a rare and peaceful place to reconnect with the wonder above.
The most magical stargazing nights under the wide-open skies of Due West Hideaways on Center Hill Lake—where the hush of nature surrounds you and towering trees give way to a breathtaking canopy of stars. Tuesday –Wednesday August 12-14, 2025
Perseid SHOOTING STARS Showers: The Perseids are one of the best meteor showers of the year, especially in the Northern Hemisphere! Amateur astronomers should wait until the moon sets around midnight for the best shot at spotting up to 100 shooting stars per hour (that’s multiple per minute!) during this show. The nearly full moon will put a damper on the show, but try looking up after midnight and stay patient.
