Our Journey to Due West Hideaways led us to Leeric Lodge on Center Hill Lake. We never imagined a Life we are, and were so blessed to have Traveled, to listen, make Music, and Creating Spaces for Others to enjoy.
Some places leave a mark on your heart from the very first visit. For us, that place was Nashville. We honeymooned here in 1996, and from the moment we arrived, we knew this city was special. We even looked at property back then, dreaming of what it would be like to make Tennessee our home. But as life unfolded in Michigan, the timing wasn’t right. Looking back, we know now that God had a plan—one that involved a winding road of experiences before bringing us home to Tennessee at just the right time.

A Decade on the Road: Living the Dream
In 2013, we were given a gift that changed our lives—we set out in our RV and spent the next ten years traveling the country. It was more than just sightseeing; it was a way of life. We worked, met incredible people, and helped businesses along the way, always sharing in the blessings of the Lord. Travel has a way of changing you, and we embraced every moment, every backroad, and every new face we met along the way.
We never lost our love for Tennessee, though. When the time finally came to put down roots, we started in Madison, just ten minutes from Nashville. That first property, located on Due West, is where "Due West Hideaways" got its name. We loved being so close to the city, but if there’s one thing about me (Tina), it’s that I’m not a city girl. I love country roads, peaceful mornings, and wide-open spaces—but I also love being close enough to hear the music that makes Nashville so magical.
Music, Memories, and the Heart of Our Story
Music has always played a role in our lives. I may not be able to play an instrument or sing a note, but I have an ear for good music. Paul and our daughter? They can pick up just about anything and play it by ear. I once thought about managing musicians, but instead, we settled into something that felt just as fulfilling—creating beautiful, peaceful spaces where people could make their own memories.
We spend our extra money on concerts in the big city, always keeping at least one show on the calendar. It’s our little way of staying connected to the music that shaped us—the country songs I grew up on, listening to my parents’ station wagon radio (okay, it wasn’t actually a wagon, but doesn’t that just sound right?). Music is emotion. It’s storytelling. It’s what brings people together. And in a way, that’s exactly what we do, too.
Its also why we have created our Weekend Jam Sessions on the property.

From Flipping Houses to Wedding Venues: Creating Spaces That Feel Like Home
Long before flipping houses became reality TV gold, Paul and I were doing it because we loved it. We’ve flipped eight homes (and we’re working on our ninth—a church we’re transforming into a wedding venue). We both earned our degrees while in Michigan—Paul with a BA in Business and me with a Master’s in Social Work—but our true passion has always been in creating spaces for people to feel at home.
We love designing spaces where people can slow down, disconnect, and just breathe. That’s why Due West Hideaways is an adults-only, kid-free, and pet-free retreat—not because we don’t love kids (we’re proud grandparents!) or dogs (you might even catch a glimpse of our own “Dolly”), but because we know that true solitude comes with peace and quiet.
As a natural planner, I’ve been organizing events for years—from weddings in just eight days to youth retreats for over 100 teenagers. A well-planned event, a timeline that flows seamlessly, and an atmosphere that allows people to truly enjoy the moment—that’s what I love creating. When we found this property, we knew it was another opportunity to build something special and share it with others.

Leeric Lodge on Center Hill Lake: A Name with Meaning
Our Journey to Due West Hideaways led us to Leeric Lodge on Center Hill Lake. We never imagined a Life we are now living so close to Nashville, Tennessee. The opportunities we have been given to travel, create events for our love of music and sharing these beautiful spaces for other to enjoy.
Our lodge’s name, Leeric Lodge, is deeply personal. It’s a blend of our middle names (Lee and Eric) and a nod to what we love most—music. Just like a lyric captures emotion in a song, we want every experience here to capture emotion—peace, joy, love, and a sense of belonging.
God has blessed us with this life, and we believe in using it to honor Him and bless others. Whether it’s a quiet weekend retreat, a wedding filled with laughter and love, or a campout under the stars, our goal is always the same—to create a space where people arrive as guests but leave as family.
We are beyond grateful to be living this abundantly blessed life, and we can’t wait to welcome you to Due West Hideaways our 20 acre private estate on Center Hill Lake.
